CMS donates over RM150,000 to Mosques in Sarawak

Kuching (Sarawak), Saturday, 2 July 2016 – In line with CMS’ ongoing commitment to community development, the company recently donated a total of RM156,000.00 to the Muslim community in Kuching during the holy month of its Ramadan under its Adopt-a-Mosque Programme.

As part of the state’s growth facilitator and socio-economic contributor, CMS has been continuing this commitment towards the community for the past 14 years.

Seventy mosques and suraus located in Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Bintangor, Sibu, Miri, and Bintulu received a total of RM156,000.00 this year which is used to pay for the utility bills and upkeep of the mosques and suraus.

“Beyond the tangible practices during the holy season, the essence of fasting, praying and giving encapsulate the spiritual aspect of the celebration. Sharing in this joyous and pious occasion is a part of CMS and the values that we hold close, said Group Managing Director of CMS, Dato’ Richard Curtis.

He continued, “Ramadan is a holy month celebrated by Muslims around the world and we would like to share this joy with our friends here in Sarawak. It is important that we continually engage the community at large as we operate to the benefit of our four stakeholders: community, staff, shareholders and customers.”
