24 November 2018 – In line with our commitment of giving back to the community, CMS Construction Materials & Trading Division collaborated with the Land and Survey Department of Sarawak for their Rural Transformation Initiatives to help Sekolah Kebangsaan Tuanku Bagus, Sebuyau. This CSR programme ran for two days, from 24 to 25 November 2018.
CMS Quarries Sdn Bhd contributed a total of 241 tons of aggregates amounting to RM13,246 for this project. A total of 13 volunteers from CMS Quarries Sdn Bhd and CMS Premix Sdn Bhd left Kuching at the break of dawn to arrive Sebuyau by 8.30am to carry out the day’s work. Together with the villagers, they dug out the earth beneath and laid aggregates to the side of the existing pathway to the school. This increased the surface height of the road which will minimise flooding. The huge boulders at Jalan Kampung Masjid, along the access road from the village to Sebuyau town, were also removed for this road extension project.
