Employees hike uphill to help church

18 March 2017 – Hiking up a hill is already in itself a challenging feat for most people but it is even tougher when one has to carry a heavy load uphill. That was what our group of CMS volunteers from the Construction Materials & Trading Division did last Saturday.

They carried wooden planks, bags of sand and gravel from the foothill of Mount Singai in Bau all the way up to the Catholic Memorial Pilgrimage Centre, which is approximately 228 meters above sea level. The materials will be used to build a new stairway with platforms leading up to the Centre, as well as to construct a new building. It took them four grueling hours to carry the materials to the top!

Kudos to our volunteers!  On top of that, they also contributed RM220.70 towards the church’s building fund.
