Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad Posts Record Profit

4Q pre-tax profit up 49% to RM66.25 million

Kuching (Sarawak), Wednesday, 27 February 2013.  Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB - 2852), the State’s leading infrastructure facilitator, continues with its record performance by  registering RM230.79 million in pre-tax profit (PBT) for the year ended 31 December 2012.

OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd teams up with Sinohydro and Sinosteel Jilin

 

Kuala Lumpur, 4 February 2013 - Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB - 2852), Sarawak’s largest and integrated infrastructure development conglomerate, is pleased to announce that OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (OM Sarawak), the joint venture company in which CMSB has a 20% equity interest through its wholly owned subsidiary, Samalaju Industries Sdn Bhd (SISB), has appointed Sinohydro Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd (Sinohydro) as its lump-sum turn-key engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, and Sinosteel Jilin Electro-Mechanical Equipment Co. Ltd (Sinosteel Jilin) as a nominated sub-contractor for the construction and commissioning of OM Sarawak’s Ferro Alloy Smelting Project in Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP), Sarawak (the Project).

Thursday, 13 December, 2012, Kuching – CMS Friendly Games 2012, in which Cahya Mata Sarawak hosted Governmental agencies and private companies to friendly team matches in football, futsal, badminton, tennis and bowling in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri, culminated in a grand way with a Bowling Tournament at Kuching’s Riverside Super Bowl attracting participants from 15 governmental agencies, GLCs and private companies in Sarawak and 3 teams from CMS.

Department of Environment & Natural Resources and Environment Board Investigation Rubbishes Claims of Clinker Plant Causing Pollution

Kuching, Sarawak – December 18, 2012 – Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB) the State’s largest infrastructure and development corporation, today welcomed representatives from Department Of Environment (DOE) and Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) to their Mambong Clinker Plant. The visit by the two agencies comes as a follow-up to allegations by Wanita PKR vice-president Voon Shiak Ni, of air and water pollution discharge at the plant.

Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad records stellar results

9-month pre-tax profit up 17% to RM164.53 million

Kuching (Sarawak), Thursday, 29 November 2012. Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB - 2852), the State’s leading infrastructure facilitator, continues to deliver strong performance for the first nine months of 2012 on the back of improving operational profitability. CMSB’s pre-tax profit (PBT) for the nine months ended 30 September 2012 rose to RM164.53 million. This represents a 17% increase from the corresponding period of last year, or equivalent to an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of RM0.31. Revenue growth remained robust at RM810.83 million for the nine-month period, 12% higher compared to the same period last year.
