CMS Employees Go Bald for SCCS Monday, 21 May 2012, Kuching – 10 CMS employees turned up at tHe Spring Shopping Mall yesterday for the shave to show their support in the fight against childhood cancer and to raise funds for a new centre for the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS).

Going bald for the third consecutive year is PPES Works’ Federal Road Maintenance General Manager, Lai Hen Kim who took time out of his busy schedule to go around appealing for donations from friends, family and colleagues. His efforts paid off when he, with the help of his spouse Michelle Lai managed to raise a whopping RM11,614.00!

The second and third highest fundraiser was CMS Clinker’s Hisham Bin Mohmurad Amin and Lim Kim Beng who raised RM3,080 and RM2,000 respectively. Last year, 7 CMS employees took part, raising RM14,017.20 in total.

Organising chairlady, Jodie Sim, said every sen donated goes to SCCS for the building of a new centre, accommodation for the children and their parents coming to town for treatment, financial aid, transportation, food, allowances as well as moral and emotional support. She said the new centre can accommodate 13 families or 20 people and is expected to be completed by July.

More than 1,000 Sarawakians including nearly 100 women went bald yesterday, raking in approximately RM1million! This year’s Go Bald was the largest ever since the fund-raiser with a difference began four years ago.

Well done, guys and a word of thanks too, to all who chipped in for this good cause!
