Race Against Time To Raise Awareness On Organ Donation Wednesday, 22 May 2012, Kuching - In conjunction with the Organ Donation Awareness Campaign, the Malaysian Society of Transplantation, together with Sarawak General Hospital and the Health Ministry organised a Race Against Time Run on Saturday, 19 May 2012, aimed at raising awareness on organ donation.

The event which officiated by Public Health Assistant Minister, Dr Jerip Susil drew a crowd of 500 people, 102 of which were CMS employees running in the 5km and 7km categories.

 

 

Race Against Time To Raise Awareness On Organ Donation In Malaysia today, there about 14,000 people on the transplant waiting list. The great majority of them have end-stage organ failure and the organ donor rate is only 1.4 per one million people. Until last April, roughly 195,000 Malaysians are registered as organ donors out of a population of 28 million.
