CMS Roads Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Main Board listed UBG Berhad, maintains over 4,600 km of roads throughout Sarawak under a 15-year concession awarded by the State and Federal government to Cahya Mata Sarawak Group.
This appointment is part of the privatization programme of the management and maintenance of State Roads in Sarawak previously maintained by Public Works Department (JKR). The project, covering approximately 4,600 km of State and Federal Roads, commenced on 1 January 2003 and had placed CMS Roads Sdn Bhd at the forefront to becoming the leading road maintenance contractor in the region.
Using an internationally recognized Road Maintenance Management System, CMS Roads' scope of work includes routine maintenance such as pavement repair, grass-cutting, roadside furnitures, grade and roll unpaved roadway and periodic maintenance such as resurfacing and rehabilitation works.
CMS Roads Sdn Bhd operates the “Hotline Jeraya” toll-free telephone service which has become a popular feedback mechanism for the public to give up-to-date information on the conditions of roads under its maintenance.
