17 September 2018 – This year, the Colour Rush Run was held in September to commemorate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Even though it was a public holiday, over 3,000 people including eight CMS employees participated in the 5km run. Organised for the 6th consecutive year by the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society, its aim is to raise awareness and funds in support of families and children who are battling childhood cancer in Sarawak. A rainbow of coloured powder paint which was playfully doused amongst runners was a representation of how colours could brighten up our daily lives, especially so in the lives of cancer patients. At the finishing line, runners received a medal in the shape of a Gold Ribbon, a symbol of Childhood Cancer Awareness.
