| Mukah Coal-fired Power Plant
PPES Works is undertaking civil works for both the plant and non-plant zones at the 2X135 MW Coal-Fired Power Station in Mukah, Sarawak. As turnkey contractor for the Non-Plant Zone, PPES Works’ scope of works comprises infrastructure works, site-clearing and earth works, the administration zone, stores, workshop, staff housing and supporting amenities. Contract value: RM38 million. In the Plant Zone, PPES Works is undertaking the on-shore portion of civil works – ie the main power block, flue gas system, coal handling system, and other infrastructure and water-related systems including ash pond and cooling pond. Contract value: RM127 million.
Once operational, the Mukah Coal-Fired Power Plant will meet Sarawak’s increasing needs for adequate power demand. Using the large coal deposits found in the Mukah-Balingian area, the Mukah coal-fired power station will be the largest turbine power plant in the State, providing 15% of Sarawak’s power needs.

| Independent Oil Terminal at Senari, Kuching
Package 1 - Site preparation works
PPES Works was awarded Phase 1 of the development following an open tender in July 2003 to prepare the 16.2 hectare site. As part of the larger development of an industrial complex, the IOT at Senari caters for the storage and distribution of bulk petroleum, as well as, downstream activities of the oil & gas, petrochemicals and oleo-chemicals industries. Package 1 was completed on time in 2004 and valued at RM20.76 million.

Independent Oil Terminal at Senari, Kuching
Package 3 - Bulk Depot Facilities & Package 4 - LPG Bottling Facilities
Following a competitive bid exercise, a joint venture between PPES Works and Chiyoda Malaysia Sdn Bhd was awarded this RM120 million contract by ASSAR Chemicals Sdn Bhd to develop Phase 3 and 4 of the Independent Oil Terminal (IOT) project adjacent to Senari Port in Kuching. The project included engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the bulk depot facilities and the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) bottling facilities, and was successfully completed on time in 2006.
